3D Modeling

As a motion graphics designer, you know that staying ahead of the curve is crucial. And when it comes to cutting-edge software, Adobe After Effects is where it’s at. The latest update includes some seriously cool features that are sure to make your designs stand out like a hot dog vendor at a vegan festival. Here are some of the new features that are sure to make you scream, “I feel the need for speed!”

  1. 3D Design Space: Now, we know you’re no stranger to the third dimension, but with the new 3D Design Space, you’ll be able to create scenes that are so immersive, your audience will feel like they’re right there in the action. Just make sure you have a life vest handy, because your designs are about to get wet and wild!
  2. Advanced Puppet Tools: With the Advanced Puppet Tools, you can create animations that are so fluid and realistic, they’ll make you feel like you’re watching a Pixar movie. And if you’re anything like us, you’ll be doing your happy dance faster than a hummingbird on Red Bull.
  3. Expressions: Say goodbye to hours of painstaking work and hello to the new Expressions feature! With the ability to easily share and reuse expressions across projects, you’ll be able to create complex animations faster than a cheetah on a skateboard.
  4. Multi-Frame Rendering: You know what they say, time is money. And with Multi-Frame Rendering, you’ll be able to render multiple frames simultaneously, saving you time and making you more money than a gold-plated ATM.
  5. Roto Brush 2: Let’s face it, rotoscoping is about as fun as watching paint dry. But with Roto Brush 2, cutting out complex shapes and objects from footage is now easier than stealing candy from a baby. And speaking of candy, we’re pretty sure this new feature is sweeter than a bag of Skittles.
  6. Audio Enhancements: With the ability to preview audio files within the software and adjust the volume and frequency of audio layers, you’ll be able to create designs that are so in sync, they’ll make Beethoven look like a one-hit wonder.

So there you have it, folks. The latest update to Adobe After Effects is sure to make your designs pop like a bowl of Rice Krispies. So what are you waiting for? Get those creative juices flowing and let’s make some designs that are so awesome, they’ll make Chuck Norris do a double-take.

P.S. Adobe has not endorsed me to make this announcement, but damn, they better start.

Bag of Tricks

Gettin Creative

Are you a creative professional in the video production industry? Do you dream of being your own boss full-time? If so, you’re not alone. Many professionals in the creative industry are leaving traditional employment to become freelancers. As a freelance creative in 2023, you have the power to control your destiny (and your workload). Why you might ask? ->

1. Flexibility: As a freelancer in 2023, you can work remotely from anywhere, work around personal obligations and set your own schedule. Want to work from the beach? The mountains? Your couch while eating cereal for dinner? You can! No one’s judging.

2. Variety of Projects: As a freelancer, you get to work on a variety of projects with different clients. One day you could be creating a video for a hip startup, the next you could be editing a promo for a multinational corporation. This keeps your work fresh and exciting.

3. Creative Control: When working for a large corporation, your creative vision may be limited (or down right non-existent). But as a freelancer, you have collaborative control over the creative process.

4. Higher Earnings Potential: As a freelancer, you can set your own rates and have control over your income. The sky’s the limit (or at least the limit of what your clients are willing to pay).

5. Work/Life Balance: As a freelancer, you can finally achieve the work/life balance you’ve always dreamed of. You can take that yoga class at 11 am, pick up your kids from school, or binge-watch your favorite show guilt-free. Just don’t forget to actually DO some work too.

6. Professional Growth: As a freelancer, you have the opportunity to work with different clients, learn new skills, and grow professionally. Plus, you’ll have a built-in excuse to buy more fancy software.

7. Networking Opportunities: As a freelancer, you can attend industry events and meet other professionals. Who knows, maybe you’ll even find a new BFF (Best Freelance Friend) – Ba Dum Tsh!

8. Autonomy: You’re the boss now, baby. No more office politics, no more red tape, no more endless meetings, and no more migraine inducing, confusingly extensive, file naming conventions. Just you, your computer, and your cat (if you have one).

9. Specialization: As a freelance creative, you can specialize in a particular area of the industry, like motion graphics or video editing. You’ll become a Jedi master in your field and clients will seek you out like the Holy Grail.

10. Work Satisfaction: As a freelancer, you have control over the projects you work on and you can choose projects that align with your values and interests, making your work more fulfilling than ever.

So, if you’re ready, take the plunge! (no Ice baths required). If you’re already a seasoned freelancer, drop your best tips in the comments below.

Let’s conquer the freelance world together, one project at a time. And hey, if you need a video editor or motion graphics designer, I’m your guy. Let’s make some magic!
